Overview
Anchor allows you to tailor some of the email and SMS notifications sent to your team and your clients. This guide will walk you through configuring these notifications to ensure that you and your clients receive updates that are relevant to your needs.
Important to know:
All notification intervals are in calendar days.
All email notifications are sent from [email protected] unless you have set up your notifications to send from your email inbox.
Accessing the notifications page
To manage notifications, you need to have Owner or Admin access. Here's how you can find and configure the settings:
Navigate to Settings from the sidebar.
Under Settings, select Notifications.
Notifications for your team
You can customize most of the notifications that your team members receive. To adjust these settings, click Edit next to each notification type and choose your preferred options. The available notifications include:
Proposal signed: Notify your team whenever a client signs their proposal.
Amendment approved: Notify your team whenever a client approves an amendment to their agreement.
Payment failed: Notify your team if Anchor fails to collect payment for your invoice.
Payment refunded: Notify your team when Anchor successfully refunds your client.
Refund failed: Notify your team when a refund fails.
Payout deposited: Notify your team when Anchor deposits funds into your bank account (this also applies if funds are withdrawn).
Payout failed: Notify your team when Anchor failed to deposit funds into your bank account (this also applies if funds are withdrawn).
Bank authorization required: Notify your team when a clients' bank account's authorization was cancelled and needs to be authorized again before payments can continue.
Bank account blocked: Notify your team when a clients' bank account is blocked and can no longer be used.
You can also set up notifications for specific client actions if they are not completed within a set time frame (in calendar days):
Proposal not signed: Notify your team if a client hasn't signed the proposal after a specified number of days.
Amendment not approved: Notify your team if a client hasn't approved an amendment after a specified number of days.
Bank account not verified: Notify your team is a bank account still requires verification.
Other automated email notifications to your team:
This automated email notification is not listed on the Notifications page and cannot be edited or deactivated:
Automatic price increase: Notifies your team one month in advance of a client's automatic service price increase.
Notifications for your clients
You can adjust the notifications that your clients receive. To modify these settings, click Edit next to each notification type and select your preferred options.
Please note: All notifications for clients are sent to every team member within the client's business.
The available notifications:
Invoice issued: Notify your client whenever an invoice is issued.
Invoice issued without an agreement: Notifies your client of a new issued invoice.
Invoice paid without an agreement: Notifies your client when an invoice has been paid.
Proposal signed: Notify your client when a proposal has been signed.
Invoice requires approval: Notifies your client whenever an invoice requiring their approval is issued. This notification cannot be disabled.
Payment failed: Notifies your client whenever Anchor fails to collect payment using their payment method. This notification cannot be disabled.
There is an email notification and a SMS notification.
Agreement amended: Notifies your client whenever an agreement is amended. This notification cannot be disabled.
Agreement terminated: Notifies your client when their agreement is terminated.
This termination notification must also be opted into when terminating an agreement.
Payment refunded: Notify your client whenever Anchor successfully refunds a payment.
Bank authorization required: Notifies your client that their bank account requires authorization to use for payments.
Bank account blocked: Notifies your client that their bank account is blocked and that they need to update their payment method.
You can also set up reminders for specific client actions at fixed intervals (in calendar days) if they are not completed within a set time frame:
Proposal not signed: Set the number of reminder attempts and the interval between them to prompt your client to sign their proposal.
There is an email notification and a SMS notification.
Amendment not approved: Set the number of reminder attempts and the interval between them to prompt your client to approve the amendment to their agreement.
Bank account not verified: Set the number of reminder attempts and the interval between them to prompt your client to verify their bank account.
Invoice issued without an agreement is overdue: Set the number of reminder attempts and the interval between them to prompt your to pay an overdue invoice.
Other automated email notifications to your clients:
Important to know:
These automated email notifications are not listed on the Notifications page and cannot be edited or deactivated.
You, the Service Provider, are not CC'd or BCC'd on these emails.
If uploaded to your account, your company logo will show at the top of the email (not shown in examples below).
New Proposal: This email notification is sent to proposal signatories. The email body text is editable in the Proposal -> Default settings (introductory message templates). The subject line is not editable.
Proposal ready for review: This email is sent to additional recipients on a proposal, not the signatories.
Agreement Auto-Approved: This email notification is sent on the day the changes take effect. It uses the same subject line as the Automatic price increase email notification.

Payment action required
Automatic price increase: This email notification is sent the day of the price update. It uses the same subject line as the Agreement auto-approved email notification.
Customizing notification content
You can fully customize the subject line and body of any notification Anchor sends whether it goes to your team or your clients. This lets you match your brand's tone, add helpful context, or make the language feel more natural for your business. Notification editing is fully supported on mobile, so you can make updates directly from the Anchor app.
To edit a notification:
Navigate to Settings from the sidebar.
Under Settings, select Notifications.
Click Edit next to the notification you want to customize.
Update the Email subject and Notification content fields as needed.
Click Save.
A live preview pane on the right updates as you type, so you can see exactly how the notification will appear to the recipient before saving.
You can use dynamic fields in both the subject and the body to automatically populate recipient-specific details. Click the { } icon to browse available fields, which include information specific for this notification or any custom fields you've set up in your account.
If you want to undo your changes, click Revert to default at any time to restore the original notification content.
