Set up a full integration with Notion from three Zaps: as you get proposals signed, issue invoices, and get paid in Anchor, your Notion workspace will update itself to match without requiring manual copying.
Each Zap can technically be used on its own, but they're designed to work together, and you'll get the most out of this integration by setting up all three. We recommend doing so in order:
Create Client — adds a client to Notion when their proposal is approved in Anchor.
Create Invoice — logs a new invoice in Notion and links it to that client when it's issued in Anchor.
Mark Invoice as Paid — updates that invoice's status in Notion once it's paid in Anchor.
📣 Note: This integration is in beta. If you run into any issues or have questions, reach out to us at [email protected].
Before you start
Unlike some of our other integrations, Notion doesn't have a fixed data structure, so these Zaps only work if your Notion databases are set up to match what they expect.
Before setting up any of the three Zaps below, duplicate our Notion template into your own workspace. It includes three databases:
Client Tracker — one row per client, including their contact info, services, and a relation to their invoices.
Invoices — one row per invoice, linked back to the matching client in Client Tracker.
Leads
If you're setting up all three, follow this order: Create Client → Create Invoice → Mark Invoice as Paid. Each one builds on the data created by the one before it. If you only want one or two of these Zaps, you can skip ahead, just know that Create Invoice works best with a client already in Notion, and Mark Invoice as Paid requires Create Invoice to already be set up.

Template 1: Create Client in Notion Client DB when a proposal is approved in Anchor
What this Zap does
Whenever a proposal is approved in Anchor, this Zap searches your Notion Client Tracker database for a client with the same business name. If it finds one, it uses that existing client. If it doesn't, it creates a new client using the information from Anchor.
First, open the Zap template here and follow the steps along. You can refer to this article for guidance.
Important note: This Zap only works correctly if your Notion database follows the structure in our Notion template. If you haven't set that up yet, see the "Before you start" section above.
Setting up the Zap
1. Getting started
Click Use this template. Name your Zap and choose which folder you wish to save it in. Click Next to move through the guided setup.
2. Connect your apps
Anchor — click Select, then connect your individual Anchor account.
Notion — click Select, then connect your account. Make sure you've already applied the Client Tracker structure to your workspace before continuing.
3. Fields
Step 1, Proposal Approved in Anchor — the trigger. Fires automatically on every approved proposal, nothing to configure here.
Step 2, Find Data Source Items in Notion:
Data Source — should already be set to Client Tracker. If it's blank, select it, this only populates correctly if you're using the ready-made template.
Search fields — already set to search by Business Name.
Business Name condition — already set to "contains."
Template Mode — leave as "No template."
As long as you're using our Notion template, nothing here needs to be mapped or changed. The search and create steps are already set up to pull directly from the signed proposal.
4. Review and publish
Once Zapier confirms all steps are set up, click Publish.
From here on, every approved proposal will automatically create or match a client in your Notion Client Tracker, including the Anchor Agreement Link and Link to Agreement PDF fields, which are filled in automatically by this same Zap.

What this Zap does
Whenever an invoice is issued in Anchor, this Zap logs it in your Notion Invoices database and links it to the matching client in your Client Tracker database, keeping your records up to date automatically.
First, open the Zap template here and follow the steps along. You can refer to this article for guidance.
This Zap works best alongside Template 1, Create Client, since it looks for an existing client in your Client Tracker database. If no matching client is found, the invoice is still logged, just without a linked client or agreement.
Setting up the Zap
1. Getting started
Click Use this template. Name your Zap and choose which folder you wish to save it in. Click Next to move through the guided setup.
2. Connect your apps
Anchor — click Select, then connect your individual Anchor account.
Notion — click Select. Make sure you've already duplicated our Notion template into your workspace before continuing.
3. Fields
Step 1, New Invoice Issued in Anchor — the trigger. Fires automatically on every issued invoice, nothing to configure here.
Step 2, Find Data Source Items in Notion — this searches your Client Tracker database for a client whose Business Name matches the invoice's client. Everything here is already mapped from the Anchor invoice, nothing to change. If your workflow differs, and you prefer to match by a different condition, you can edit it freely.
Step 3, Create Data Source Item in Notion — this creates the invoice in your Invoices database and links it to the client found in step 2. If not found, it creates it as an invoice without an agreement. Every field here (Invoice, Services, Rate, Date, Invoice PDF link) is already mapped, you can keep them as is or adjust formatting if you'd like.
4. Review and publish
Once Zapier confirms all steps are set up, click Publish.
From here on, every issued invoice will automatically be logged in your Notion Invoices database and linked to the matching client.
Template 3: Mark invoice in Notion as paid when paid in Anchor
Template 3: Mark invoice in Notion as paid when paid in Anchor
What this Zap does
Whenever an invoice is paid in Anchor, this Zap automatically updates that invoice's Status to "Paid" in your Notion Invoices database.
First, open the Zap template here and follow the steps along. You can refer to this article for guidance.
Important note: This Zap requires Template 2, Create Invoice, to already be set up, since it updates an invoice that must already exist in your Notion Invoices database.
Setting up the Zap
1. Getting started
Click Use this template. Name your Zap and choose which folder you wish to save it in. Click Next to move through the guided setup.
2. Connect your apps
Anchor — click Select, then connect your individual Anchor account.
Notion — click Select. Make sure you've already duplicated our Notion template and set up the Create Invoice Zap first.
3. Fields
Step 1, Invoice Paid in Anchor — the trigger. Fires automatically on every paid invoice, nothing to configure here.
Step 2, Find Data Source Items in Notion — already set to search the Invoices database, nothing to configure here.
Step 3, Update Data Source Item in Notion — this step requires an Item value that can't be filled in yet, since it needs a real search result to reference. You'll see a warning that this step "needs your input", that's expected. Create a placeholder invoice in Notion or select an existing one if you already have one and continue to Review. If you created a placeholder invoice, and it's not showing in the menu, click "Refresh".
4. Review and publish
Zapier will confirm the Zap has no issues and is ready to publish. Click Publish. Once you do, it will open the Zap in the main Zap editor, where you will be able to finish the setup.
5. Map the invoice lookup
Click the Find Data Source Items in Notion step (step 2) and test it. This runs a real search and returns an actual invoice, including its ID, which you'll need in the next step.
Click the Update Data Source Item in Notion step (step 3).
Click into the Item field. You should now see the ID field from step 2 available to select, click it to map it.
4. Click Test step, then test the step. Once it succeeds, click Publish again to make sure your change is saved.
From here on, every invoice paid in Anchor will automatically update the matching invoice's status to "Paid" in Notion.
