How to connect Anchor to TaxDome using Zapier [BETA]

Learn how to use TaxDome with Anchor to automatically add clients when a proposal is signed

Written by Yair Zirulnik

You can use Zapier to connect Anchor with TaxDome so that when a client signs a proposal in Anchor, a matching account and contact are created for them in TaxDome automatically, kickstarting onboarding immediately.

What this Zap does

Whenever a proposal is approved in Anchor, this Zap automatically pulls the signer's contact information and creates a matching account and contact in TaxDome, no manual data entry needed. This works for every proposal that gets approved.

First, open the Zap template here and follow the steps along. You can refer to this article for guidance.

Before you start

Make sure you have admin/owner access to both your Taxdome and Anchor accounts, as these permissions are needed to set up automations in Zapier.

Setting up the Zap

1. Getting started

Click "Use this template/Try it". Name your Zap and choose which folder you wish to save it in. Click Next to move through the guided setup.

2. Connect your apps

  • Anchor β€” click Select and select your account if you've connected Anchor to Zapier already. If you haven't, click Connect a new account. You'll be asked for:

    • API Key β€” generate this from Integrations > API keys in your Anchor account.

    • Email β€” the email of an Anchor team member with admin or owner permissions.

  • TaxDome β€” click Select, then connect your TaxDome account.

3. Fields

This template has four steps:

  • Step 1, Proposal Approved in Anchor β€” the trigger. This fires automatically every time a proposal is approved in Anchor.

  • Step 2, Find Contact by ID in Anchor β€” this automatically pulls the signer's contact details using the proposal from step 1.

  • Step 3, Create Account in TaxDome β€” this is where you'll fill in a few required fields:

    • Account type β€” select the TaxDome account type you want new clients created as (for example, Company).

    • Tags (optional) β€” add any tags you want automatically applied to new accounts.

    • Folder template (optional) β€” choose a folder template if you use one.

    • Team members β€” select which TaxDome team members should be attached to each new account.

The options in the dropdown are pulled directly from your Taxdome account.

  • Step 4, Create Contact in TaxDome β€” this step will create a contact in Taxdome matching the contact from the signed proposal in Anchor, and apply it to the account that was created in step 3.

4. Review and publish

Once Zapier confirms all steps are set up, click Publish.

To test the workflow, create a test contact and proposal and get it signed. You should see a matching account and contact created in TaxDome shortly after.
