How to connect your ACH using account and routing numbers and complete the payment method verification process.

Written by Yair Zirulnik

If you're having trouble connecting your bank account automatically, you can connect it manually using your account and routing numbers. This guide walks you through how to do it.

You can do this either while signing a proposal or by adding a payment method on the Payment methods section of an existing agreement. These are the steps to take:

Step 1: Add a payment method.

Click Add payment method, then select Secure ACH > Connect bank account.

Step 2 (Optional): Sign up with your phone number.

If you want, you can sign up using your phone number so it is faster to log in and change your payment method in the future. You can safely skip this step clicking Continue without phone number at the bottom.

Step 3: Click "Manual"

On the next screen, you'll see two options. Make sure to select Manual, not Instant. This is what allows you to connect using your account and routing numbers.

Step 4: Enter your bank details

Fill in your account and routing numbers, type in your name and complete the form. Once done, the page will ask you to authorize a deposit. Click Authorize:

Step 5: Look out for your verification deposit

Within 2–3 business days, you'll receive a small deposit of $0.10 in your bank account. The transaction description will include a 3-letter code. This is your verification code. You can reference the image below for how it should look on your bank statement:

Step 6: Type the code in Anchor

Once you have the three letter code, log in to Anchor with this link or ask your service provider for a link to the agreement or proposal. If you don't have a password, you can simply type in your email and we will send you a one-time code to log in. Once in Anchor, go to Agreements on the left sidebar if you've already signed the agreement or go to Proposals if you're trying to connect to a proposal you haven't signed yet. Once there, the agreement or proposal will read "Manual verification initiated".

Hover over it and click Complete verification. You will be able to enter the code and finish connecting.

All done! If you'd prefer, you can also share the code with your service provider and they can enter it on your end.
