How to Whitelist Anchor's ACH Company IDs With Your Bank

Make sure ACH payments on Anchor aren't blocked by your bank's debit filters.

Written by Kellie Roop

Some bank accounts block ACH (Automated Clearing House) transactions from companies they don't recognize. Anchor processes ACH payments through payment partners and their Company IDs may need to be on your bank's approved list before payments can go through. This article explains why that matters, how to add the IDs, and what to check if a payment is still failing or blocked.

Why Whitelisting Is Necessary

Banks offer fraud-prevention tools called ACH Positive Pay, ACH Debit Blocks, or ACH Filters. They reject any electronic withdrawal from a company ID that isn't on your approved list.

If these IDs aren't on your list, your bank may reject the payment or return it as unauthorized.

When that happens:

  • The payment fails and has to be retried after the IDs are added.

  • A dispute may be opened on the payment, even though you authorized it.

  • Your bank account may be blocked from future ACH payments.

Adding all three Company IDs ahead of time prevents all three.

ACH Company IDs to Add

Add all three Company IDs below, and create a separate rule for each one.

Rule

ACH Company ID

Originator/Company Name

Rule 1

1800948598

Stripe Payments Company

Rule 2

4270465600

Stripe Payments Company

Rule 3

1371968160

Column N.A.

How to Whitelist the Company IDs

You can usually add the Company IDs yourself through your bank's business portal. Some banks require you to make this change by phone instead. If you can't find these settings online, skip to Adding the IDs by Phone below.

  1. Log in to your bank's business portal: Open your commercial or treasury management platform, such as J.P. Morgan Access, Bank of America CashPro, or Wells Fargo Commercial Electronic Office (CEO).

  2. Find your ACH fraud settings: Look in the security, fraud control, or treasury management section. The feature may be called ACH Positive Pay, ACH Debit Block, or ACH Filter Rules.

  3. Add a new rule: Select Add Rule, Add Authorized Company, or Add New Company. The exact label depends on your bank.

  4. Enter 1800948598 with the name Stripe Payments Company.

  5. Create a second, separate rule for 4270465600 with the name Stripe Payments Company.

  6. Create a third, separate rule for 1371968160 with the name Column N.A.

  7. Set limits if your bank requires them: Some banks ask for a maximum dollar amount or payment frequency. Choose limits that cover your full expected payment amounts.

  8. Save and approve: Save all three rules. If your bank requires a second administrator to approve changes, make sure they approve them before your next payment date.

Adding the IDs by Phone

Some banks only allow changes to ACH filters through a representative. To add the IDs by phone:

  1. Call your bank’s member services or customer service phone number. Business customers may be transferred to the treasury management or business banking team.

  2. Tell the representative you want to authorize ACH transactions from specific companies on your ACH Positive Pay, ACH Debit Block, or ACH Filter settings.

  3. Give them all three Company IDs: Read each Company ID and its Originator Name from the table above, and ask for a separate rule for each one.

  4. Confirm the change: Ask the representative to read the IDs back to you, and ask when the change takes effect.

What to Say When You Call

You can use this script when you speak with a representative. Replace the bracketed fields before calling.

“Hi, I’m calling about my bank account ending in [last 4 digits]. I’d like to authorize ACH transactions from specific companies on my account’s ACH Positive Pay, ACH Debit Block, or ACH Filter settings.

Please add these three Company IDs as separate authorized originators:

  • 1800948598 – Stripe Payments Company

  • 4270465600 – Stripe Payments Company

  • 1371968160 – Column N.A.

If a maximum dollar limit is required, please set it to at least [amount].

Could you read those IDs back to me to confirm? And when will this change take effect?”

Helpful Tips

  • Add all three Company IDs. Payments can come from any of these IDs, so missing one can still result in blocked payments.

  • Enter the IDs exactly as shown. Each ID is 10 digits, with no spaces or dashes.

  • Use the exact Originator Name. If your bank asks for a company name, enter the name listed next to each ID: Stripe Payments Company or Column N.A.

  • Can't find the setting online? Call your bank. Some banks require this change to be made by phone through a representative. See Adding the IDs by Phone above.

  • Check dollar limits. A rule with a limit below your payment amount will still block the payment.

  • Retry failed payments after updating. Adding the IDs doesn't automatically reprocess payments that were already blocked. Please reach out to Anchor Support to reprocess the payment.

💡 If you manage several business accounts, add the rules to every account you may use to pay through Anchor.
